Other Band-related News (cont'd)
Waking Up Tillie is proud to report that Pete Peterson won
the grand prize for Old-Time Three Finger Banjo at the 12th
Annual Charlie
Poole Festival, in Eden, NC, which took place on June
8-9, 2007. Additionally, Waking Up Tillie won first place
in old-time string band, Pete won first place for best rendition
of a Charlie Poole Song, Randy Johnson took second place in
old-time fiddle, and Pete Peterson and Kellie Allen took third
place in duet singing.
In August 2007, the Orpheus Supertones (Walt Koken, Clare
Milliner, Pete Peterson & Kellie Allen) took second place
honors in the traditional string band competition at the Appalachian
String Band Music Festival in Clifftop, WV. |
